  • Tire size for a 17x8 wheel

I have a set of Rotiform NUE's, 17x8 et30. I'm trying to find the right size tire to stretch over them

I am new to this, this will be my first experience with stretching a tire, or buying anything other than a stock tire size for stock sized wheels. Consequently, I know little about tire sizing.

I've looked on tyrestretch.com a bit, and liked the idea of 205/40/R17. I'm not looking for any sort of crazy stretch. Perhaps a little more than a mild stretch with a.... okay, enough BS. I don't know what I'm talking about I'm very indecisive and need some helpful insight.

If it is at all useful info, the car will be on air.

Depending on the tire 215/40 will look super mild, 205/40 is about right.

I spoke to a friend yesterday night about a 195/40 on a x8. He told me he had that size tire on staggered 17x8.5 17x9.5's, I think I like the 195 stretch a bit more.

If you're going for any type of poke do 195/40 or narrower. The 205s are my winters

I have 205/45-17 on an 17x8, they're falken 512's and look like they have as much stretch as that 195 above, too bad they don't make that tire anymore...

How reliable is something like that anyways?
