  • tyre help for my touring

i have a e36 touring, and i have 3sdm 0.05 rims 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 im wanting a good stance already have it on coilovers and have a static+ kit to fit but im stuck on tyre size?

what size would be good for a 8.5 and 9.5 good stretch but nothing to extreme maybe a 35 profile ? i know its hard to get e36's low and stanced on 18s but looks ace when done well

    cheers

I'd go with 205/40s up front and 225/35 in the rear. That's what I run on the same widths, but in 17".

Might also go with 215/35 up front as it's a bit lower profile, but a bit wider than the 205...

Yes I was thinking of 215/35s up front with 225/35s in the rear hoping that would allow me to get good lows . Been checking out all the bimmer forums who's most slammed on 18s topics and that but just seems crazy all the setups seem different ! Some on wider higher profile tyres getting it lower than people on smaller profile tyres. seems to be all in the set up of the coilovers and camber.

Current reference for best stance on 18s would probably go to Adnan. He'S on 9.5x18s all around, not sure bout the ETs, and I believe he runs 215/35s.

Sorry, we couldn’t find that page

        This here:

was my old setup on 8x18s and 9x18s with 215/35 all around. But I wasn't all that low.

Getting it to look really proper on 18s isn't easy, this is why I went back down to 17s...

Adnans stance is pretty much what I'm looking for ! Sits so nice !
I've looked at your old set up and pics as a reference for tyres and rims quite a few times tbh! Looks good ! I did wonder why you went to 17s . I noticed you said about a small arch gap you weren't happy with on the 18s ? Did you change your rear camber arms ? I'm looking at the after market adjustable arms but unsure if they are needed ?

            Nope, no camber arms.

I only had my coils and rolled rear arches to get that fitment.

I still don't run adjustable camber arms, even though now on my 17s (which stick out quite a bit more, as they are 9.5 ET13 in the rear and I had to pullthe fenders quite a bit to run without rubbing at my desired height) I have the rear camber maxed out with the stock adjuster bolts. But it's a bit uneven, but now they're stuck. Which is why I want to eventually swap over to camber arms, for easier adjustment.

Oo that's good to know ! I thought the arms would be Easyer to adjust that why I want them ! Make getting the wheels fitted a lot better ! So did you find the 35 profiles fit ok ?
