  • To much stretch?

I plan on getting 15x8.25 with a 155/60/15, it that to much stretch to daily drive on? I have seen it on 15x8, I would go with 165/45 15 but want to have a little more ride height to not drag my car to peices.

The valuation of "too much" will be greatly dependent on the owner's own preferences. There are pro's and con's to varying amounts of stretch and it's really up to each owner to determine what they feel is "right" for their daily driver.

You can check tyrestretch.com to get an idea of how much stretch you're looking at.

This is a 155/60/15 on a 15x8 so you'll have a little more stretch than pictured:

And a 195/50 on an 15x8.25 if you decide it's too much:

Same tire on a 9, so it looks like it would definitely bead on an 8.25

From my experience stretch tire annoyingness (leakiness around the bead) is much more a component of how and by who your stretch tire is mounted. If you can find someone that will take their time and be nice to the tire, use liberal amounts of bead sealer and use a cheetah properly, you're going to have waaaaaay less chance of running into an issue than if you have the same tire mounted by some idiot who manhandles the tire on, rips the inner bead and uses no bead sealer even after failing with the cheetah three times.

IMO that's pretty excessive. Why do you want that much? I have 205/50's on my 15x10 DD and even wish the rears are a little wider sometimes.

This please. I'm all for stretched tires, but when there's stretch and tons of room between the fender guard and the tire, it looks silly.
