  • Finished my first set of 2013 Spring wheels

I know they are Reps so no flaming about that. what do you guys think about the color?
The centers are painted all in that same color as well. the color is a slightly darkened toffe brown met VW color. I put the tires on last night, might throw them on the car to double check fit but i dont want to run them full time until all the salt and stuff is gone.

I know this is a terrible pic if there is interest i will get some better ones, just wanted to see what the general feeling about them was... im excited about them

I love the color personally, but yeah don't know how many will feel about them being reps but who cares. Most of the bolts in reps are just put on with silicone, would have been a bit more nice to remove them and finish in a different color or raw. Do you have caps for them, I think without showing the multiple PCD holes it will look better. Good job!

      Those are reps?

The finish looks good, but I don't like the color. Dark close-to-black colors are hard to pull off in the first place, the more detailed the paint color is the harder it is to pull off. I'll wait till I see them on the car before I give my final verdict.

Thanks! im glad you like the color. nobody around me has done a color like that. Its one ive wanted to do for a while.

Ive got the centercaps ill throw them on tonight and put a pic up of that, and yes they do have a BBS logo in them as they are a BBS inspired wheel... and well the H4ters are gonna H4te and i enjoy it regardless.

Lol, ive bought two sets of legit wheels (my RPFs and a set of TE's back in the day) and i vowed to never do it again... i change wheels 3 or 4 times a season normally and its just too much money to be throwing down for no real gain (cue someone griping about how im putting the real companies out of business). so i accept the flames and what not but the RPFs are for autoX and winter. and my summer sets are for looks...

super high dollar multipiece wheels are awesome for track use or if you are only gonna run one set of wheels for a long time, but dropping 2 or 3 grand 3 or 4 times a summer is for the birds.

yeah i totally agree and at night they will def look black. but in the sun the color sparkles. Im already going for a somewhat dark look anyways so the slight hint of brown/bronze is just enough to jump off the silver... i may throw them on for a few photos this weekend if its nice and i can find a spot i wanna shoot. but thanks for the initial compliment! I just joined this forum after really not feeling the last one i was on(too many angry people i guess) and everyone seems pretty cool.

oh yeah the bolts are totally glued on btw. I found that out two years ago after media blasting a set powder coating them and then when i hit bake all the plastic caps melted and ruined the wheels... (i bought the dude a new set out of my pocket) it was a mess.
