  • OZ Futura - 2-Piece VS 3-Piece

    Hi all,

I just took delivery of my 17" x 8.5 ET13 (5 x 112) OZ Futuras. Got them cheap (ish) as they need a refurb so started pulling them apart today.

However, it would seem they are only 2 piece - the inner barrel and the face seem to be 1 part and the outer lip is 1 part.

I didnt think you could get 2-piece futura's? Thought they were all 3-piece....this is screwing up my plans.....! Dont want to go man-handling the faces if they're attached or I'll end up damaging them.

Anyone got any pics of both types so I can compare to mine?

I looked on google and can only see 3-piece ones?

So. Do i have 2-piece, or do I need to man-up with the mallett and get them into 3-pieces?!

    thanks for any help.

    They all are 3 piece.
Sometimes it can be really tough to separate the faces from the barrels. I've sometimes just gripped really tight on the faces, and "smashed" everything onto a piece of wood. and before you know it it pops out, takes a couple of good whacks.

thanks for the pointers, they seem to be reverse mounted so the face is in palce though the back of the barrel - will get heat/mallet out and have a play later! thanks all.

Yay! bit of heat and a smack with a mallet and they're apart!

          Thanks Stanceworks!

These had the faces reverse mounted - if I wanted to, could I put them back together sandwich style to make them a bit wider?
