  • Fittipaldi's?

Found these for sale online. The guy lives a few hours from me so before I drive all the way there I'm hoping someone can tell me what that centercap is and if their real. He says their off an 87 Vette. 17x9.5 2 piece et55 or so. From the back pic it appears their 3 piece rather than 2.

They look like OZ Fittipaldi's with fake caps. 3pcs.
Ask him to take the center caps off and read...

Seeing a wheel from the front or back has nothing to do with it being 2 or 3 piece, but it can't help to suggest if it is a single or multipiece wheel. The only verifying 2 to 3pc tell would be to see a seal (or lack of seal) on the outside of the wheel where the inner (barrel) outer (lip) and face meet. A wheel can be front, reverse, or sandwich mounted so seeing it from behind means nothing.

      BOL, those are cool wheels.

Contact mk3f.t.w. - he owns a similar set.

        These are his

If it has to do with wheels, tires or brakes it goes here. 'Nuff said.

If the ones you posted really are off a Vette they should be quite rare as the centers are 15'' and the barrels and lips step up to 16''.

i have a set of 5 faces from the 5x120.7 vette of the same time. might be putting them all up for sale as i dont want to build them.

in this case though, I believe you have 16" faces stepped up to 17" vette wheels. they are real fittipaldis though, so there isnt much question there

Thanks for the info guys, I am only going by the info I was given via craigslist. I am going to pick them up on Saturday so I'll measure them myself when I get them. I wish they were 16's so I could use them on my Corrado.

I read through that thread. Beautiful wheels! I wonder if I should strip these ones down and fully polish them or paint the centers?

Picked them up yesterday and they are 2 piece. The centers and the outer lip are 1 and the barrel is another. Kind of a bummer but still cool wheels. They are in fact 16" not 17" and 9.5" wide. They are Type 07

Quick et measurements says their et32

                    WHUT!?

Full polish looks great on Fittipaldis, but you cant go wrong with a nice subtle color on the centers..

Turns out they are 3 piece. The paint is so heavy on them it gives the illusion their 2 piece. Also I didn't know the centers bolt in from the back so when I scraped out the silicone seal I only saw 2 pieces coming together. All good now but they won't work on my car so their up for sale.
