  • 18x8.5 w/ 215/35 vs. 205/40 request please?

Does anyone have any pics of these two so i can compare?

Side by side would be badass, but individual would be cool if its the same angle.

I have some 8x18 and 9x18 with 215/35 lying in the garage... I can take some pics tomorrow if that can help you?

Here's one already of the 9s:

Expect some slightly smaller stretch on your 8.5s of course.

Imo I'd go with 215/35 because according to the tire calculator, the sidewall is about 7mm thinner than on the 205/40s, making the wheel almost 14mm smaller in diameter.

yeh yeh yeh, check tyre stretch.... guys. look at the 205/40... not my first time seeing it, it just doesnt help.. yeh i can see the stretch, but it just doesnt help on other aspects.

either way i think ima do a 215/35.

can i assume the width of the wheel will be the same in looking for stretch?
like can i look at 215/35/16 as long as its a 8.5 inch wide wheel? and expect the same stretch on an 18? does it work that way?

edit: seeing the way the 512's look here http://www.tyrestretch.com/8.5_215_40_R18/ i may do a 215/40. i hear they run narrow?

ive decided on a 215/40. i loooove the way falken 512s look. but now im just trying to find a good tire in close to the same specs. mainly looking for tread life, but a good look as well.

                  any suggestions?
