  • Any stretchable winter tires?

    'Ello guys,

Winter is right around the corner and although us New Englanders lucked out last winter, I don't think the case will be the same this season. I'm just curious if there are any stretchable winter tires you guys know about?

    EDIT:
    Answer is yes.

    Muchos gracias

Not sure (Pittsburgh guy here). I heard winter is going to get bad, perhaps that wouldn't be the bets idea to stretch. Then again, I'm a new guy

I just bring out my winter wheels with some beefy tires

Ugh PA winters can be awful. Unless you have some replica wheels that you wouldn't mind running during the winter, i really wouldn't want to do a strecthed set-up
      Great neck

I don't run stretched tires currently, however they are narrower than what is supposed to be on there. Nitto SN-2's 225/45/17 on 8.5 wheel.

Of course it can be done. Did you think snow tires had bracing on the inside or something?

Winters are super soft and will probably stretch super easily. I've had a few buddies run stretched winters and not have issues.

Only thing you have to worry about is if you're stretched enough for salt to get behind the inner lip of the wheel, to clean it out regularly so you don't get a bunch of corrosion and ruin the wheels.

Ahhh awesome, thanks. Wasn't looking for an extreme stretch, just was curious if it can be done.
