  • E36 Sedan offset help

    Hey guys,

I know this forum has quite a few E36 guys on it, so I am asking for your help. I just recently picked up a '98 M3 /4/5 and am looking for some tips on aggresive offsets for it. I've had tons of VW's and Audi's in the past with poke and stretch, but this is my first BMW and I'm clueless with this car. The front fenders on the car already seem pretty flat and I am planning on rolling the rears. Just looking to get a ballpark on what offsets would work with say a 17x9 up front and 17x10 out back. Tires would probably be 205/45 up front and 225/45 out back. Coilovers have been ordered and the car should be pretty low.

    Thoughts?

Pic of the car for reference:

Do you know if its possible to run a 10 up front with stock fenders and a lot of stretch?

You need too pull the fenders quite a bit.

I would go with the 215/40 and 245/35 or 225/35 route. You can go with very low offsets in the front 10-20 without issues but the rear needs some minor work. My old setup was done by just rolling the fender as much as possible, no repainting was needed.

Hope this old setup of mine helps:
          RH ZW1 Cup
          9x17" ET12 with Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 215/40
          10x17" ET15 with Goodyear F1 Eagle GS-D3 245/35

Front fender no mods, rear fender rolled and pulled ~3cm. No rubbing what so ever.

The outside is not an issue.
In below pic 18x9 et22 with 225/35 (your setup will be 2mm more in). The issue will be the inner fender and clearance from the coil/spring (14mm less clearance) Judging by my ex setup I don't think you have enough room for the 9.5 with that offset.

Just finished putting in some FK silverlines. The back is pretty damn low since I didnt put in the rear perches, the front is all the way down with helper springs still installed. I might have to take the helpers out so I can get the front to tuck rim like the back. I'll post pics once I get some spacers for the front (Wheel is hitting the spring).
