alright guys its finally time to throw my rims on the money pit.

the rims i have are fronts 18x8.5 et 25 and rears 18x10 et 30....

the rears poke about 5mm from the fenders....and im adding 5mm spacers up front to flush the wheels.

so im lookin for the best stretch for my setup and still keep overall diameter close.

    thanks to the gurus!!!

This should help give you a good idea of how things will fit.

I'm not sure exactly how much room you have to worth with, but as far as aesthetics are concerned a 225/40 on a 10" wheel is a nice looking stretch in my opinion. The 215/40 on the 8.5" is pretty conservative. If you want the stretch to match up between the front and rear a little more I would think about a 205/40. Once again, that's all just my opinion.

is this car quattro? If it is you need to keep rolling diameters fairly even front and rear so that you dont throw a code or fuck anything up

i had a TT225 quattro until a few days ago when i sold it, and i had problems with my haldex when i ran staggered wheels with the percentage off slightly more then 5%. close doesnt cut it with haldex. had them for only a few days and then went to 18" alms wheels and never looked back as it was my DD. make sure to research and keep rolling diameter as close as possible.

I ran a 215/40/18 on an 18x8.5 et 25 wheel on my TT and it fit good. No rubbing at all up front.

alright so to keep the radius close im now going 205/45 for the front and 225/40 rear.

                          sound good?

i dont think haldex was the issue with 5% difference. to OP i think either size will be ok but id run wider if you can. i run 255/35 and 285/30 /19. ive always ran staggered on my audi's and never had an issue.
