  • tire debeaded and is only 2 days old

i drove my car early in the morning and i didnt even drive a mile when it debeaded. I took it to a tire shop and got it mounted again but im worried it might happen again it could it have had low psi? any ideas btw its a 225/40/18 on 18x10 wheel

Probably low pressure, that isnt really an extreme stretch at all so i would say it was low pressure.

Some wheels don't have a large enough bead lip for stretch, what wheels are you running? I know that some Porsche wheels like to debead when you run too skinny of a tire.

Seriously? Your tire debeated after the first mile of driving on it and you're not sure if it's holding pressure, so you think waiting a week to check it next is good?

it wasnt its first mile i had already drove on it for 2 days for about 100 straight but the next day my father took the car and in less than a miles distance it debeaded. he said today he might of hit a pot hole or something or that the fender hit the tire. I drove 1 hour to class and 1 hour back and nothing happened to me today.

Just check them every morning for a little while. You easily could've had a slow leak that was fine the day before but ended up with low pressure in the morning.

Your dad probably just slammed a pot hole and didn't want to tell you

This is the reason I don't let anybody but myself drive my car... I've got 225/40 on a 18x10 as well and I'm obsessed about checking air pressure after getting 6 cracks in a front wheel from driving it on low tire pressure and stiff coilovers. Check the wheel that debeaded for cracks on the inner barrel just to make sure you don't have a slow leak coming from a small crack. Submerge the wheel in water and check for bubbles.

i bet he did but he keeps going with the story that it was because my car is to low. I rebeaded it checked for leaks and it was all good so im pretty sure thats what happened.

                      +1 on dad.

The last time my dad had to drive my car, he pulled up too far in a parking spot and didn't even tell me. But when he came back I spotted it anyhow.
