  • Muteki SR48 lugnuts

I've been running a set of these for a few months now. Every time I unbolt/bolt them I have to be real careful otherwise the paint gets chipped off more. They're not looking as pretty as they first did.

Is this a common thing or did I get a bad batch? Thanks.

When you go to unbolt / bolt them wrap them in something so you don't damage them anymore.

My blue sr48's were the same way. Looked terrible after a few months. But after a while i didnt even notice them anymore and stopped caring. They looked good from a distance.

^This. After a while you will barely notice and usually it won't scratch it up that bad that a little photo edit would not take of. But I was actually luck my vw friend had bought a silicone wraped lug key that worked great with my lug nuts. Helped protect scratches to my wheels and lug nuts at the same time.

I have a set of green ones that are only a few months old. I tried the sandwich bag trick and eventually gave up - they were pretty scraped up the first time I installed them.

Ok guys. Shame it's not just me with issues. They're going to stick out further on my next set of rims and I couldn't live with them being scratched. I'll see if I can mod the lug key some how or work on wrapping them in something that won't result in scratches.
