Just cracked another barrel, This is starting to get annoying. 195/40/16 on 8.5 and 205/40/16 on 9.5. I run 45psi, and am careful as shit when I'm driving. Other than run a bigger tire is there anything else I can/should do?

Run less pressure so the tire absorbs more of it, 32-37 is fine. They're old barrels though, with all the brake dust they have been impregnated with over time they're just going to be weaker then when they were new. -
Have the same problem, I only run around 36-38psi. 3 rear barrels in 15,000kms, 205/40 on a 9.5. Old aluminum is brittle unfortunately
I remedied it by buying 4 spares.
Sucks to roll hard.

how bad are these barrels cracking? like small cracks so the tire leaks slowly? or are huge pieces just falling out of them? hahaComment

Do you have a decent amount of travel front/rear? I ran my rear maxed out/tucking with no travel before I went air for about a week, (which results in a hefty bit of camber as well to be fair 8-10 degrees), and cracked my barrel in the process. Beyond that at regular heights(in my sig) have never had any other issues with 15-20,000 miles of daily driving and such. Hit a few gnarly things with them in that time as well. 215/40 on a 10 all around.
