  • BMW E38 alloys on E46 - Urgent help needed

help me. so tempted to bid on these but worried they'll never go under the arches.

9x17 and 9.5x17 style 32 rims (assume an e38 7 series) due to widths so ET15 to 25 is as mush as i know.

seller doesn't know offsets, says he cant find stamp marks on wheels either.

can this be done without major arch surgery?

Or will the front poke massively at these offsets?

yes coilovers will be fitted for a slam but its still a daily.

also will 215 front and 235 rear be to big for tyres? this is a daily driven car and whilst i like the look of stretch and camber do not want to have change tyres every 5k or run them at 50+psi to keep them on the rims.

    tips/help/hints appreciated muchly peeps

according to this website they be the following offsets

    8x17's are et20
    9x17's are et26

9.5's are not listed! is the add lying therefore or they just missing off the site? could it acctually be a staggered 8j and 9j setup and the seller is getting confused??

      Simples dude.
Buy them and bolt them on, then work out what tyres are needed.
They are et20 front and et26 rear.

205/45 up front and 225/40 rear should do the trick tho.

so the offsets will fit under the arches? thats my concern - stock is et40ish front on a 7j. i'm happy to roll arches but not to pull them.

I think for the 7 series the offset is 22.
I know the 18x9 for the 7 series is 22 and the 5 series is 26.

these are advertised as 9x17 and 9.5x17 - there deffo stagfit inside front arch - or even flush - unless its about gered - but i'm concerned a 9j won't et35 - which these will not be!!

              Yea they should fit fine.
The style 5 guys run et20 on standard arches with 205's. Fronts will be the same and rears 6mm further out lip wise.

The wheels that are fs will be 8 and 9's too.

                  What, you're selling it?
Sell it as is and give me the rims, yes?

im pretty sure you wont have any issues, nothing that cant be fixed with tire sizes, et 22 would be the lowest and i fit et 20 with a lil fender pulling

you might be able to buy the rims chris - but give....no!

i've been trying to sell car for a few month but to nibbles.

hence i thought i'd get it stanced and sell it on then.

i need a diesel for work mileage - job change menas 60000 miles a year soon!! groan
