  • Polishing Work wheel faces?

I've checked out the various write ups on rebuilding wheels on here, but have not found anything on this specific topic. I know Rays engineering offers a "Rays Metal finish" (chrome), but I was wondering if a similar finish could be had by polishing the faces of the wheels?

I've seen pictures of people who have polished the faces of their one-piece work emotion wheels and rays engineering RE-30's to a mirror finish (I also saw the fully mirror polished BBS wheels on here for sale and I've seen 5zigens fully mirror polished too). I was wondering though, has anyone done this before on a 3-piece work wheel face with success?

    Thanks in advance.

I found these on the same site that the polished Work Emotions picture came from (http://www.wheeldesign.it/):

...so maybe this answers my question?
Do the faces of these Work Euroline's look polished to anyone else? (I'm not too familiar with the differences between Ray's metal coating/chrome and polished). I'm guessing one would have to coat these with clear or something too after too.

I think it looks great, way better than chrome anyway.
If it's just aluminum, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to mirror polish them?

It's certainly possible. Just takes more time than polishing lips, cause you have to do everything by hand. And you have to be thorough, cause all the small imperfections are way more visible on a flat surface than on the lips for example
