  • Grinding Barrels and Lips

I was wondering what the best method is for grinding down an inner barrel and a lip.

I have some 3 piece wheels that I'm building, but the faces don't sit properly. So I need to rid of some of the inner barrel and lip of where the bolts go.

I need some advice before I start grinding away. Thanks.

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about that won't sit in properly:

Did you have them painted or powdercoated before re-assembly?

the faces were recently powdercoated, but they didn't fit before anyway. The lips and barrels are not original. I just need to grind down about 1mm for them to sit in properly.

Trial/error and a lot of time.
New lips and barrels from Tunershop for my OZs and they both didn't work well with my mitos.
I used everything I could think of to get them down, angle grinders, dremel, sanding.... just have someone machine it down. Saves you weeks of work.
