mismatching tires... noob question

looked around but couldnt find anything on this. i bought new wheels and since im a cheap bastard, im just buying used tires. the ones i picked up today are all the same dimensions, but they have completely different tread patterns and one is even a pound or two heavier than the others. is this bad for the car?

as long as the tread pattern matches on the same axle its fine. fronts should match left to right, same with rears.
