Sooooo.... 16x9s or 17x9s???

Finally have the mula to get some wheels. I was set on getting a pair if xxr 962s 17x9 all around. But now i did more research and have looked at the Esm 009r 16x9 all around. Im just now stuck in between now! I love both styles but when i think about the 17s i wonder if that will be to big to go as low as i want. When i think of the 16s i just wonder if they will be to small and look wierd. NEED SUGGESTIONS! Thanks guys!

Either sizes will not look good on a stock height Elantra.

Save your money for suspension first, before attempting to fit an aggressive wheel setup. Better yet maybe consider another platform...

These cars are becoming popular enough as of late to where I'm sure more quality suspension parts are going to pop up, so I wouldn't be so quick to jump ship to a more readily-modifiable platform.\

That being said, the ESMs will look a bunch better and cleaner on your car. I've always very much disliked the 962 XXRs, I don't think they look good on anything and I'm sure I'm not alone in that thought.

Since your car is smaller, I'd recommend sticking with a 15" or 16" wheel, going too-large right off the bat skyrockets you into ricer territory, or Donk status [neither of which is good with a Hyundai].

I dont want a new platform just because of the unique aspect of it. If i can do all the things i would like to witg my car i think it can be consider 100 percent stanced and clean. I already have a pair of coilovers pick out and ready to buy as well. Just wanted to get wheel decision out of the way first. But thanks so much for the help! I cant wait to get all yhis started.
