  • 165/45/16 on a 8.5. yea i think its so much.

so i guess like everything there is a limit. idk where i got the idea in my head there would be less stretch on these but basically I'm 3 weeks till the first show i want to take my project to and i think I've reached the limit of how much stretch is safe to drive on

i mean its fucking wild. make all the camber celica and streched mini spare jokes you want but basically i want to get smaller lips. right now I'm on 2" lips and want to swap for 1.5's. but has any one ran on a equally ridiculous stretch with out any issue? i mean they are holding bead no problem with only 35psi off the car.

the only 195/40's easily available in the states are s-drives and those things are chunky as hell. 16's on a MK1 rabbit aren't exactly a great fit and I'm not trying to be donk status. and the first tires are 17's.

but seriously any input on if this is drivable or not.

165/45/15's on 8.5's. but does not look nearly as wild as my tires.

165/50/15's on 9's. looks fucking wild. about where I'm at.

Holy fuck, that is a lot of stretch. I had 215/40s on 10x17s and they looked kinda like that, looked like the tyre was barely beaded at all and was a fucktard to fit. But I ended up getting brave and cornering pretty hard on them, never lost a single psi.

there was a fox wagon running more stretch than that at a local show i was at this past weekend which makes yours look normal, i thought he was crazy but he said it was driveable

I would just be careful and see how it works out, my one friend locally ran stretch like that with no issues for a long time on rfs

If it holds air then yeah go for it, you'll be fine. Just fill em to like 50 psi to be safe. Buncha girls in this thread.

almost a year was rolling 215/40 and 215/35 on my 10x17s without any problems, also the stretch is way more normal than this...

My Civic has 165/45s on 15x8.5s, but it doesn't expose as much barrel as yours do. They're definitely not quite THAT crazy. Haha Worked out great for my setup, though!

I run a 225/40 on an 18x11". Just raise your tire pressure up to 40psi and check it once a week, if they are beaded and are not leaking you wont have an issue man.
