  • 17x10" et30 all-around on e36

Those of you following my build thread know I'm going for a very aggressive vert. Well, you can't be aggressive with 8/9"s, so it's time to go big!

I picked up a set of 17x10" all-around et30 Gottis. These should give me a real aggressive stance with small tires for now and allow me to run some real rubber (possibly with bolt-on flares) once I reach my hp goals.

I've test fit them the best I can for now, as I need to open up the centerbore. The rear looks like it should fit nicely, but the front pokes quite a bit and hits the strut.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get these to fit better?

-Fenders-My fenders have a pretty good roll and pull, so not much else I can do there.

-Camber-Currently have -2 & -3 camber. I have BC camber plates, but they are maxed out. The wheel hits the front strut on the inside (probably have to run 10-15mm spacer), so I need the strut to move inward with camber. How can I get more camber in the front and have the strut move in?

-Tires-I'm thinking 215/40 in the front and 215 or 225/40 in the rear. Anyone forsee problems with getting a 215/40 to mount on a 17x10"?

-Front strut clearance-This appears to be my biggest issue, so if anyone has any ideas on helping this (without adding spacers), I'd be very interested to hear.

    Thanks!

...and, of course, I wouldn't ask for help without a pic of the wheels.

Swap to 97+ ///M spindles in the front, you should gain an amount of -1 to -1.3ish more camber and more caster, that will prevent you from rubbing in turns. you could also put washers between the strut and spindle, but that would make the wheel come that bit more towards the strut but the same time poke less.
Its gonna be a tight fit, here is a picture of my setup with the 10 in the fronts.
I think you will need to add around 10mm in spacers.

SW:ZC coil overs, Vorshlag camberplates around -3 camber, non-m spindles, 17x10et19. fenders are non rolled or pulled at all in the front. and still had the fender liners.

There is about 4-6mm of clearance. I think i could run max offset of 25. on the 10's.

      Front poke.

Did this on my wife's car...looks like I may be doing the same to mine. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks! Won't the 97+ M spindles pull the wheel closer to the strut?

Thanks for the pics! I looked at your build thread also. Got me really excited about the 10"s in the front!

The relation of strut to wheel does not change when you add or take away camber. The strut/spindle are in a constant relation to eachother and there is no good way to get more clearance there. Your best, and only bet if you want to stay with a 10 will be to space it enough to clear, run a small tire (I have 215/40s on my 10s and they are fine) and a good amount of camber to get it to fit.

I cant remember the exact specs, but they wont pull them as close as it would adding washers. I should try and find the thread on BFc.
And thanks, but most pictures are with 8.5" in the front, due to me not having money to rebuild the fronts.

But how come you say the poke is too much in the front, does 1degree of camber add to "too much" compared to the rear that is at -3degrees.

I would personally go with 10ish mm spacer and washers, kingpins or different camber plates that allow more camber.

I think you guys are on point with the recommendations. Gonna try to get by with a 10mm spacer and then just go for as much camber as I can get.

              Thanks!

Yeah, they belonged to a VW friend and have been sitting in another friend's house for a year or so. Finally talked him into selling!

17x10 +30 is cake. you should have no problem fitting the them. the rear fitment would be the same if you were to add a 12mm spacer to your style32's. i ran that setup for a while with only a rolled fender.

heres my e36 m3 on some 17x10 +30 with 215/40 federal ss595... you will get more stretch than that with a normal 215 though since federals run a size wide.

so for the back they fit nicely but for the front i think the rim is going to hit the suspension. i would suggest 10mm spacers maybe to clear, you might be able to get away with a little less spacer but youre just going to have to test fit them.

Thanks, guys! I'm feeling much better about it now and starting to get excited!

I'm giving the faces to my friend, so he can machine the center bore. Then I can do a legit test fit.

From research and what y'all are saying, it should be fit very nice.

Here is 17x9.5 et11 and 17x10 et19. Same as my wheels with 11-12mm spacers, which should be enough to clear suspension.

I just have one more question. ^^That car has 205/40 and 215/40s. I have a set of 205/40 and 215/40 Falken 512s on the style32s...think they will mount up on the 17x10?

215/40 Fuzion ZRI (stretches similar to falken 512 IIRC) ET20 With a decent amount of camber lol Just for reference. ET30 you should be able to tuck the hell out of.
