  • 18x8.5 et13 on MK6 Jetta?? Help Me!

Ive got an extremely rare set of BBS RS 285's et 13 and a 2012 Jetta. Don't want to get rid of the wheels, Cant machine down the back pads, and this setup on the MK6 jetta is unknown. I need to know that if i purchase some Tires to Stretch, that I'm not wasting my money. Suspension is BC extreme lows. Someone Please give me some good news and let me know this is possible.

Sorry, no way that is going to work without bodywork.

If you really want to use them (which is understandable), i'd drop the wheels and car off at a custom bodyshop and have the car fitted to the wheels. I recently had the rear of my wife's mk5 widened .75" on each side to fit her wheels better.

Thanks man..... This actually gives me some hope. Im thinking I can do this by stretching 205/45, a little fender rolling, and some camber.

Please can more people chime in on this and give me some hope!

are they 17s or 18s? your gonna need a smaller tire than a 205/45 if its a 17. if its a 18 you want a 215/35. its doable but your gonna fuck your front fenders up. they need to pulled pretty far because im pretty sure koolaid has body work

I think a 215/35 is your best hope tire wise. i have 205/40 on my wife's car and have a lot of trouble with it at 18x8 et21 (1/2" less poke than you). we also have rolled and pulled fenders.

Yeah they are 18x8.5. Ive had 215/40 on them when they were on my subie and I can't visualize that being enough stretch to pull this off. So yeah maybe 215/35 because 205 is so skinny.

yea 215/35 is the smallest tire you can get. post up some pics when you get them on. also what are bc extreme lows? ive never heard of them for our cars. i couldnt find coils that went low enough so i said screw it and went air.

Man I **** to be "that guy," but you should just order the smallest tire you can get, and make them work. pulling your fenders 1-2 inches is not even a big deal just be patient.
"on our way back i hit a bump and both of the springs slip off of their seats and slashed both of my front tires."

If your not doing this, your doing it wrong.

Yeah I called BC because I couldn't find any Coils for the mk6 jetta. Their application for the mk6 is the same setup for the mk5. They have the standard setup and the extreme lows. when you order from them you can choose a customized spring rate for what you are doing. Because they are all special order, I won't get them for a few weeks.

Yeah I think I'm just going to do it. Im going to install the coils then fit the wheels w/o tires just to get a good "eye ball" and make sure its going to work. Id **** to buy tires only to find out it won't work.
