  • Different sizes spacers

    Hi guys,

When my right quarter panel was repaired after some accident is was slightly pulled and now I have different distances between my tires and my arches on left and right sides. The difference is of about 1 cm. My question is if I can use different size spacers to even the distance? For example, use 1 cm spacer for the left wheel and 2 cm spacer for the right one. Car is a Peugeot 307 - solid rear axle. Thanks!

pull the other side aswell and run 2 cm spacers on both.

I'm trying to avoid that as I'm sure it will not come out as "clean" as the other panel.

Even though your car is FWD, I'd try spacing them equally. I can't imagine you just spacing your wheels differently and not having any problems with driving straight, braking, corners etc.

I know some vw guys run 1-2mm larger spacer on one side if their rear beam is out of center. It's much cheaper/easier to pay for spacers than to center the beam.

Yeah, that wouldn't hurt too much. In this case though, the car is straight, yet the bodywork isn't. A whole cm difference (10mm) really isn't such a good idea I think. Just pull the fender on the narrow side too, and rock some wider wheels on both sides.

I run a 5mm on one side to compensate for the offset rear subframe on our VW. never seemed to be an issue.
