      Thanks!

      Front: 18x9 et 30
      Rear: 18x10 et 27

This is what I ordered at least.

Now, I have a rather newbie question, so please bear with me:

I measured the wheels lip to lip. The fronts measure 10 inches from lip to lip. The rears measure 11 inches from lip to lip. It normal for the wheels to be 1 inch wider like that?

This is how I am measuring:

Yeah it's from bead seat to bead seat so in that pic .5" to 10.5"

Ok, now that makes sense! Yep, if I measure it bead seat to bead seat they are checking out correctly.

Thanks guys. It's my first set of 3-piece wheels and I am bit confused.

              . . what does that have to do with how you measure a wheel? . . doesn't matter if it's a 3-piece or a one-piece wheel . .

yea the total width of the wheel is always going to be an inch wider than the actual width due to each bead is about 1/2 inch.

cuz you got to think where the actual tire is mounting to your wheel...

...right, but it is the inner lip of the wheel that will define how much clearance there will be on the shock once the whee is mounted. I guess I've been worried that the wheels won't clear the suspension components. So that's how I made the mistake of measuring from lip edge to lip edge, I guess.

Test fitment is tonight after work.

So what was the verdict on clearance?

                    progress IS a slow process

Clearance looks good! Might be bit tight for the front struts when the tires are on, but we will see.

I was at a track day this weekend and I could not get the tires mounted. So its this week or weekend.

I drove to Tirerack last weekend to get the LM5s wrapped in some Michelin PSSS. While I was waiting for them to mount the tires, the Chicago Audi Club showed up for an AutoX event. I signed up on the spot and I have the christened the brand new wheels and tires right on the spot. I literally rolled out of the tirerack dock onto the their testing track. Fantastic experience!

I love the new look! I really like meaty tires on nice wheels that sit flush with the fenders. Did a quick car wash today so I took some pics and I did a time lapse video:
