  • Need quick help: Problems with painting lips on split wheels?

    Hi guys.

I am about to paint a set of split wheels fully white, but the "car-sprayer" wich should paint the wheels, says there will be problems when assembling the wheels with the screws -> crackling paint or messing up the paint-layer.

Have any of you with painted lips got any problems with this? Or any heard of this?

The layer on the lips will be approx 100μ thick with rust protection, filler and paint.

I think the key is to hold the bolts steady while torquing the nut. Just my 2 cents

But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."
I just reply, "your daughter, sir."

Tape? Under the bolts/screws or what?

Are you worried you might crack or chip the paint when you assemble the wheels? or that the paint is going to get in the holes?
