  • Questions about reverse mounted BBS LM's?

these questions might be dumb but just want to make sure. this is for the people who have gone through reverse mounting LMs.

i was just wondering, can you reverse mount them with the tires still on and air in them?

also, do you have to put any kind of sealant to prevent the air from leaking or is that not required.

do you know the torque specs of each bolt and is there a sequence you have to follow to get the face fully balanced and aligned?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!

Well, the LM's are 2 piece, so I assume that you can reverse mount them without dismounting tires. You'll need some blue loctite put a drop on each bolts threads. No other sealant is needed. Not sure on the torque specs, but you need to bolt in a star pattern (basically one bolt, it's opposite, next bolt) etc.

      Yes

      Not needed

normally 3piece wheels are torqued to 22-25 ft/lbs, 33-34 Nm use loctite to prevent them getting lose. im not 100% sure the LM's are torqued to the same specs, use at your own risk.tighten them down in a star spec, just like when you put on a 5lug wheel.
also, some people put the face in a lathe and take some metal of the lip of the face, to make it flat so it sits nicer against the edge of the barrel, since the edge is curved. some have done it without machining the face flat, and have had no problems. if I was you, i would machine the face down for peace of mind.

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!
      Good luck man.
