  • Are Work Meisters made of chrome?

My 'chrome' meisters got a bit burnt Monday night, car fire.

Been messaged about repairs, just wondering if Meisters are real chrome? Apparently it can't be fixed.

    Damage:

    Cleaning them up this weekend.

Hatchbacks, wagons... It's NOT all the same. You want in? Don't get a mazda 3, get a mazda 6 wagon. Don't get a wrx get a legacy wagon. and theres a reason the A3 isn't called the A3 avant... Scion does not make a wagon it makes a weird van, but no wagons

      Sincerely,

P.S. Is your tail a wagon?

      Show cars are lame.

Hilarious dude, you are the man.

To answer your question OP, the chrome plating on the wheels now is most likely beyond repair. If the wheels are not damaged structurally you can strip them and refinish. Stripping chrome (or whats left of it) is something you want to be done professionally but I think it would be worth it as meisters are not cheap wheels.

I would get them strength tested before you mounted them if the fire was hot enough it could have warped the alloy and messed with the structural integrity of the wheel.

At least you all knew what I meant xD

Yeah they will be structurally checked before I try to refurb them. Both tyres went, but the wheels are just really dirty. The insides got damaged from recovery onto a trailer with no tyres.

It will probably cost quite a bit but I want to get them sorted as they cost me more than the car!

you definitely need to check them and make sure the aluminum isn't brittle from the heat, or you run the risk of a wheel shattering if it hits anything really.
