  • Pic Request thread, 16x9 et15 on BMW e28

like the title says, id like to see what a 16x9 et15 wheel would look like on an e28, theres an e28 for sale VERY cheap locally and a set of kerscher carmonas in 16x9 et15 for sale locally too and i thought together they would make a nice daily driver

and what are some cheap ways of lowering an e28 other than just cutting the springs etc. or is that my only option for doing it cheaply?

    Et15 is only 5mm less than stock . . so you'll probably even need spacers . .

these are pics of the actual wheels, they look like a pretty radical offset in the picture but they are on a jetta too, and could i use spacers with these wheels with the way they mount up?

its fine if they dont poke out from the fenders, id just like them to sit level with the top of the fender

        those on a E28? . . . not a fan . .

well . . you need to redrill em or get adaptors . . but to be honest, I wouldn't . . sell em and get something that fits . . there are many better looking wheels with 5x120 that fit to the lines of a E28 . .

As far as lowering... cutting springs is the only way to do it cheap... the lowest springs (spax) will still not get you low enough IMHO.

Those wheels could look alright but as stated above they are going to need some spacers and they are 4 lug so a redrill would be in order. the smallest adapters available (that I have seen) are 15mm... which would put you at an et of zero all around, which would be pretty aggressive. You could pull it off, but with a good amount of fender work.

They're actually multi-lug with a factory 4 lug pattern bolted on. You remove that bolt in the second picture and the 4 lug pattern comes out, leaving the wheel looking like the third picture.

what he said, but after the alternator crapping out on the car i was gonna buy these wheels for (86 535i) and getting a nice ticket and impound fee on the way home with it its gonna be awhile before i can get wheels, but they did just start selling borbet type-a's again.......
