  • E36 Contours Hit Coilovers??

Hey guys, so I ordered some FK Highsport Coilovers. I am going to install them tomorrow. I have a set of contours 17X7.5 with +41 offsets. I am running a 225/45/17 tire.

My question is, will my tire hit the coilovers when I install them? I ordered spacers for my oem ltw wheels because I know they will hit for sure with 235/40/17. So the contours are just going to be on until the end of this month. I just dont want to take everything apart again to have to reinstall the top mounts on the oem shocks after switching them to the coilovers. Also heard of the possibility of setting up the coilovers to be really high to clear the tire.

Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes, you would have to set them pretty much as high as possible for it to not hit.

are your springs progressive like beehive shaped in the front?

no, your fronts are linear, your rears are progressive.

it will still probably rub, if you don't have spacers for the front you could either set them up all the way or hold off on installing.
