  • Would this be deemed unsafe??

Ok, iam going to be geting adaptors for my mk4 golf.

    so 5x100, 15mm adaptor to 5x120.

thats ok, BUT.. could i then use 15mm spacers just on the rear so i can use my winter setup too?

This way just saves me buying in total 3x adaptor sets
    2x 15mm adaptors
    1x 30mm adaptor.

    Thanks in advance

Depends on how much thread there would be on those adapters. You'll still want to be able to secure your wheels properly when you have those spacers on right?
I think it may not be the best of ideas but it could be done and shouldn't be to dangerous. (If you do it properly, that is.)

      Winner winner chicken dinner

The technical rule of thumb is if you can thread on 1.5 times the shank diameter you should be fine. An example would be if you are using 14mm studs you need to thread on 21mm of the stud before you torque it down. If you can do that (that is quite a small amount) you will be ok.

        Thanks for your answers.

What Iam going to do is bolt the adaptors straight to the hubs, then use some long studs thread locked into the adaptors then use nuts on those.
Meaning I don't need to carry different length bolts for the other wheels too.

I used to run 20mm adapters with 10mm spacers with extended lugs no problem. Fully hubcentric though. I wouldnt do it if it's not
