  • 17x9.5" et9 all round on a mk4 golf. Do able??

Thought I'd ask the question before buying adapters to fit the rims.

Anybody seen or done this size? Any pics?

    Cheers in advance.

when i got my 2nd gti it come on rs that were 17x 9.5 all around.. not sure of the spacers as they were already on but they looked to be a good 1.5-2 inch spacers.. i loved the poke and stretch you wont regret it and surprisingly i didnt rub.. go with 205/45/17 you be more than happy...

heres the for sale thread of my car when i went to buy it (dont have any other pics of car on rs and theyre in pieces while i rebuild them)

If these specs are correct mine will be pretty much the same but 9mm more poke at rear and 5mm at front.
                Am I right????

are you bagged? i ran 17x9.5 et18 on my mk4 and ***** it. it looked like dick unless i was aired out, and there isn't room to go any further in.

and actually now that i think about it, once i switched to airlift XL's i had to run it with 2-3mm less offset.

but yeah, it will look like dick, unless you never air your car up, ever. i did it, and ***** it....don't make the same mistake.

Have you got any pics of your mk4?

strut clearance is the biggest problem. at et 18 i had 2-3 credit card's clearance.

this. 17x9.5 et 18 is about the highest you can really run on mk4's without hitting strut. but IMO even 17x9.5et18 looks bad on mk4's. too much poke up front

Ok cool, So do you rekon the pic of the blue mk4 above the specs are wrong? Just that I personally think that looks the nuts and would be happy with that.
