  • E36s on 18s

I feel proper nooby writing this, but I'm possibly looking at 18s for my E36 Tourer. The arches are pretty pulled and flared and it's being resprayed at the mo, so I don't want to batter them.

My old set up was 8.5x17 ET8 with a 195/45 up front, 10x17 215/40 ET15 rear but I want to be sitting flush with this set up - I also want to run less stretch and less camber out back probably (lame I know).

What I'm thinking is below, but it's not really exactly what I had in mind - you can't get tyres in the sizes I'd have liked really. Basically, has anyone got photos of E36s on 18s, done properly?

    My current thoughts are:

    215/35 8.5x18 ET25
    235/35 9.5x18 ET30

I want it to be driveable and not ruin my nice new paint. I would post up pics of the old setup for reference but my photobucket bandwidth is done for the month

    Any help appreciated!

yea that would work fine. you will be almost flush. you can always run spacers though if its not flush enough for you.

That's part of the plan. With the camber it's currently on and with the arches pulled out the rears were almost flush before on a 10" ET15 but I want to run chubby tyres this time round.

Pics and stuff would still be awesome if anyone has any

With pulled arches you'll need to run some slight spacers to get them flush, methinks. ET20 in the rear should do fine with a 235 on pulled fenders for a rather conservative flush setup.

I run 9.5x17 ET13 in the rear with heavily pulled fenders... I've got enough room back there, that I could easily run 235 or even 245s.

There's quite a few out there.

For reference, here's my Touring back in 2010 on 8x18 ET20 and 9x18 ET22 with 215/35/18s. Just rolled fenders in the rear.

Nice one Bastien. As it happens your car is one of the first to come up on Google!

I reckon I'll get away with ET20, though I might start looking at 10s again... Hmm

Love E36's, black wagon looks great on that setup for something a little less agressive.
