  • Help: Tire size for 20x9/10 offset 19 and spacers/adapters for E60

    Hey Stanceworks,

I'm new to this whole stance thing but been a long time lurker and need some guidance for new tires and fitment for my current wheels on my 06 E60 5-Series since I have to replace one rear tire b/c of a bubble. Since I can't find any used rears tires (285/25/20) and a new one will cost $300+ I thought it will be a good time to get new tires and fix my stance.

    I'm currently running:
    20x9 et19 245/30/20 Verdestiens (Fronts)
    20x10 et19 285/25/20 Verdestiens (Rears)

I plan on rolling the front fenders and shaving the rear fenders and run spacers/adapters and make it more flush and/or a little poke. Thinking about 17.5mm in the front and 30mm for the rears and a little camber (around -1.5F and maybe a little more in the rear). I'm lowered on H&R Sport Springs (Front Lowering -1.4" Rear Lowering -1.3") and don't plan on going any lower b/c my neighborhood has crazy speed bumps and I just want it to be a comfortable daily. I want a nice light/mild stretch for the spacers/adapters to make it flush/poke and maybe a little taller since i'm not that low and would make it looked tucked?

for the new set up I was thinking:
Achillies 225/35/20 for fronts and throwing my old fronts (245/30/20) on the 20x10 rear or I have a set of 245/35/20 Yokohama S. Drives from an old setup I can throw for the rears if the 245/30 are too stretched.

for reference stock E60 M5's run:
    19 x 8.5 255/40R-19 (front)
    19 x 9.5 285/35R-19 (rear)

Please tell me if i'm going in the right direction with the new tires or what you guys think I should run.

Thank you and advance for your help!

225/35/20 on a 9 and 235/35/20 on a 10 would be perfect imo, 245/35 on a 10 is a bit meaty if youre going for that flush look

follow that guy, imo thats perfect, hes running 225/35 on a 8.5 and 245/35 on a 10.5

He's actually where most of my inspiration is coming from. So the 225/35 on the 9 will be ok? I was thinking I might have to run 235/35 to compensate the .5" since my front is wider and 235/35 on the 10 b/c I'm .5" narrower in the rear. Would the 245/30 on the 10 work?

so I ended up going with the 225/35/20 on the 20x9 front and throwing my old front 245/30/20 on my 20x10 rears. The front is nice but the rear is a little to stretched and thin. When the rears wear out I think I will go with what you (INDOMI) said, 235/35 on the 10 rear. I think it will might work better like you said.

would another option be 255/30 or 265/30 for the 20x10? I've seen some people suggest that too or is the 235/35 a better fit?

Anybody else? Should I run 235/35/20 on a 20x10 rear or 255/30 or 265/30 and stay 5 series lower in the rear than the front which how most stock BMW's run?

Why is it that BMW's run a lower profile in the rear?

235/35 on a 10 is perfect for me, but 235/35/20 is quite a rare size and not many manufacturers make them, so they might be a bit expensive. if 245/30 is too thin for you then go 255/30. Sometimes with tires its all about trial and error, have to keep switching sizes to see which one suits your application better
