  • Low ratio tire for 18s

Okay, so, I'm going from 17s to 18s, and I really don't want to fit the wheels and have to spin the coils down to keep how low I am. Currently, I run a 205/40, not stretched on a 7" wide of course. The new set up is an 18x8. I want to find a lower ratio tire to keep as close to low as possible as I currently am without playing with the coils. I found some 215/35s of course, they're pretty much everywhere. A big factor in this is price. 205/40s in 17 can be had for mad cheap. I've found some 215/35 in 18 that are pretty close to the 17s, under 100 still. I'd like to be able to spend less than 100 on a tire. If anything, like 75-80 lol What are my other options as far as tire sizes? Nothing over 215 please. Basically looking for lower price, with a tire that can keep me low still, but nothing too rubberbandish.

    EDIT:

Or are the 215/35s pretty much what I should be looking at?

215/35. I love my Kumhos because they are quiet and perform pretty well. My guess is that since my car shares your car's chassis, the tire noise inside your car is louder than normal (like mine). If that is the case, don't get Falkens - I've had two types and they are noisy. I have Nittos on the wheels I just bought and will report on those soon and they are in your other possible size - 205/40/18.

So far, I've been looking at Nankang. They seem to be the cheapest without being so cheap that they're some Chinese brand tire.

Yeah, my car is more than likely louder from road noise because Jaguar>Ford, even though we have the same car basically. What kind of Kumhos are you running, exexpat?

Price is also a big factor into what I'm looking for. I mean, check the sig lol

            That's not entirely true.

205/40/18s can be had as well.

I think I may go with 215/35, mainly because they have a smaller sidewall, easier to keep the lows. And from what I've found, are cheaper. A combination that I'm looking for lol
