  • The time for change has come....

    Oh hello there.

I've been MIA for the past year or so, some of you may remember my gold VW on pink RS, and my blue 330 on pink RS.

The reason I'm here today is because I'm looking to purchase a set of 18" wheels for the BMW, and I was wondering what types of offsets are typically run on BMWs with an 18" wheel. I know 17's up and down and what will clear etc with the caliper and fender.

Currently I have 17X9 et 20 in the front with a 205/45 tire and that works perfectly for me. However, because of the size of the wheel I had to grind down the caliper because the nuts on the back would hit. I'm assuming with 3-piece 18s this is no longer an issue so I should be able to get away with lower offsets and a wider wheel.

    Thoughts?

I'm thinking 18X9.5 et 25/-30 ish. I'll be honest I haven't searched too much but I figured if I'm to the point here I'll get the best answer. The rear I already have figured out.

This is what I have going on now and want to stay relatively close to it...

Also these wheels are for sale!

    Thanks in advance guys!

If you want to have that same fitment with a 9.5 in the rear you're going to want to go lower offset than that.

I'd step up to a 10 or a 10.5 in the rear and 9.5 up front.
Offsets around 20ish should give you similar fitment.

That was my old car with 18x9.5 et20 rear 18x8 et13 front.

I was going to say, you can go much further than 25-30 if you want it flush. I poked slightly on my 330ci with 17x8 ET0. I know, 17s, but you can still use the widths.

If I was to do the E46 platform again, it would be something like this, http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php...&Submit=Submit

        18x9.5 ET20 or a 9J ET15

I have 17X9 et 20 already and 10.5 et 13/75 in the back. I'm not concerned with the rears, I have that sorted, but it's the fronts since with 18s I shouldn't hit the caliper like 17s because of the nuts so I can go a lower offset since the bolts in the wheel will clear the caliper.

That's my question.... How wide can I go in the front and with what offsets to maintain the look I had with the pink RS but more dish...

Please show me 3-piece 18s on the front with ridiculous widths and offsets...
