  • Factory bmw wheels that fit a e36 well?

    Hey guys

I have a e36 sedan as a daily that I would like some new wheels for. In New Zealand there is no way you will find a decent set of second hand bbs and I cannot afford new. So I was hoping there is some factory bmw wheels from maybe a later model? That fit a e36 perfectly. I have seen it a few times but haven't been able to get details.

Can anyone help? I'm after a little poke and stretch here..

    there you go.
asking for a good fitting wheel with a little stretch and poke is stupid. I dont know what you think a good fitting wheel is.
Its like asking what food tastes good. I can't answer for you. only you can be the judge.

      what he said . . ^

but, just to give you a idea:

all 5-lug BMW's have the same bolt pattern of 5x120 . . so no problems there . .

      The E36 has standard offsets around ET45 . . same on the E46 (newer 3-series) . . to have them "flush" you'll need some spacers . . . E32/ E34 / E38 (80's 7series / 80's-early 90's 5-series / 90's 7 series) have a offset around ET20 (so the wheel sticks out about 25mm more than with a similar sized E36 / E46 wheel) . . E39 (late 90's 5-series) also has ET20 but has a bigger diameter center bore, so you'll need center rings . . E31 (old 8-series) has even less ET . . around ET10 . .
E53 ( X5 ) has around ET48-50 . . so that's a option if you want to have non-stock E36 wheels and still prefer to play with spacers to find the perfect fitment. .

there are many more options with wheels from "newer" BMW models . . but those mentioned above are the most commen to find a set of good wheels for a decent price . .

it depends what you want and what size tires you put on there, running ET20 wheels normally needs at least some work on the fenders . .

I've got a set of 5 BBS style 19's that I'm currently refinishing that will fit your E36 bmw. If you are interested i can send plenty of pictures when I'm done refinishing the wheels.
