So im looking at getting some wheels for my 99 ek hatch. i was looking at some diamond racing steelies and was thinking something like 15x7 or 15x8 but not sure what offset i should be looking at. And also how much fender work would be needed if needed. my cars lowered on some cheap-o coilovers, not sure if that affects anything. Any help is grateful. Thanks!

15-20mm offset will have you sitting pretty flush. 0 offset will give you a lot of poke and require a lot of negative camber and fender work to get inside of the wheel well. Some people go with 0 offset just to say that they have a 9 or 10 inch wheel. Personally I think the 15-20mm offset works just fine and doesn't require excessive offset and fender rolling/pulling. That's what i will be doing on my Del Sol.
Google "xxr civic" or "xxr integra" and look at the images. You will will find people with zero and 15 or 20 mm offsets to give you a better idea.

I should also mention that I am referring specifically to an 8 inch wide wheel. Oxer's comment made me re-read what you typed and realize that changing the width affects everything else too.
