  • Do Nankangs NS-II stretch nicely?

    Hey everbody,

just wanted to know if the tire itsself fits nicely or rather bulky? I was thinking 205/40s on a 8x16 and 215/40s on a 9x16.
Yes, i do know 195/40s would be perfect on an 8x16, and 205/40 rears but cant do it due to legal issues

I also know that Falken 912s stretch great but the 205/40s speed index is too low for my car

Im also open to any suggestions! I just want a nice looking tire...

    Thanks guys!

    Cheers

        Thanks man!

Thats really low profile..im running 215/35/16 Hankooks right now and thats just not very much rubber But they really seem to stretch nice, hopefully the 215/40 comes anywhere near..
I also remember seeing your GTI on Vortex..gotta love that car! What was the color on the wheels exactly?

Yeah, i know they're not the best quality but they seem to be the only tire that's a) availabe in both sizes b) affordable c) possible to run legally d) nice looking

Ive heard bad things about Nankangs when wet though..anybody had bad experiences?

These are 215/40 NS-II's on a 16x9, good stretch, but not too much, and a nice profile to still be a decent ride. I previously had 205/40 NS-II's on an 800kg RWD car with 360hp and found them to be quite a good tyre, as stupid as that sounds!

Sorry the photo isn't the best.

Thanks man, gives me a good idea of what the tire will look like. Well, ive been hearing both good and bad about Nankangs. I guess ill give it a try since they're so cheap.

Thanks for your input man but i guess almost every 205/40 will stretch nicely on a 9,5. Damn if could only get 205s street legal on a 9''

What about Falken 512's? Best tires for stretch and they come in both those sizes.

for around $100 a tire these tires are worth it in 215-35-19, so deff worth the purchase

the only problem with 512's is that they run so small, so a 205/40 falken 512 wont fit a 9.5

Dont if you intended this but thats exactly the information i nedded. Thanks man! So i need a tire that's actually smaller than others in the same size so solve the street legality problem!

Or is there any other tire that runs extremley small?

                              Thanks everybody so far!
