Clk ltw's

Hey guys, I got some Clk Ltw's today for 160 at a vw show. the only problem is someone rattle canned them black and did a horrible job. I was wandering how to get the black off and still keep the "mirror finish" i was talking to a friend today and he said sand them down with a really rough grit sandpaper and clear coat them. is that right? or is there a way to keep the finish that is underneath the black. Id rather do it right either way so i maay try to sand them with a really rough grit and keep on going down until smooth.
suggestions?

Paint stripper, then you'll have to see what condition the metal is in and see what you have to do from there to get a mirror finish.

Search the forum dude there's a fuck ton of info and would have been quicker to look than start a thread and wait for reply's

would blasting them work since they are aluminum? would they have the metal look still or would they be the white color some wheels get once they are blasted? or is that only steel? I'm obviously a noob at this.

i googled sand blasted aluminum and it looked exactly how i wanted it to look so i may blast them today. I'm not sure.

bought this, air plane stripper and wheel clear coat.


Before,

sprayed a lil on this wheel.

the paint started to bubble up

peeled off really easy,





mostly clean

tool i used to not scratch the wheel.
