  • recommended fitment for '92 Miata?

so my buddy bought a project miata over the summer that he built entirely. turned a very basic shell into a running slammed monster.

basically he decided to make a stance car out of it because he's already working on a big turbo MS3.

but, moneys tight, and he's looking for a cheap way to get started in the stance scene. i recommended Diamond Racing widened steelies.

now, i haven't messed around with wheel size and fitment on a Miata so i don't really know how wide and what offset he should do.

i'm thinking 16's like 9" wide in the front and 10" wide in the rear. no idea what offset i should recommend. anyone on here with a Miata want to share their expertise?

here's what he's looking like now: (getting painted this week)

here's where i wanna get him:

maybe a bit more conservative than that.

miata guys, pics with your setup would be great! then ill send him this thread so he can see what he wants to do.

You want 14 or 15 inch wheels, then somewhere around 0 in terms of offset for that kinda fit. Have a search though man, loads of Miatas on here to gauge from.

yeah my bad. i'm not new to forums so being on the other side of the "use the search feature, n00b" talk isn't exactly where i wanted to end up but i was just hoping for a quick answer and hopefully pics + specs so i can gather a thread for my buddy and have him decide what looks best.

i don't really want to spend 2 hours sitting with him on this site searching for everyone's miata's and then asking for wheels specs from members' cars he likes.

i was hoping to get a nice photo collection going in this thread where everyone just posts their wheel and tire specs.

There is wealth of information already out there though, stop being lazy and try dig it out yourself. Have a look in the appreciation forum and see if there is one for Miatas, that would be one place to start.

Searching Miata in the showroom and build area wouldn't take two seconds, and you'd get an answer much faster than waiting here for people to reply...

          That is darrin's miata.
he ran 13x10 -25 in the rear. front was 13x9 -13

your 16s will never look like that. i would do 14x9 et somewhere around -10 or 15x9 et -6
