Can I mount my center in the middle?

I have these RH made ACS wheels. 3-piece 18". The centers are mounted on the "inside" of the lips. And the question is, can the center be mounted in between the lips? Will gain almost 1" in width that way. But since there isnīt a centering edge on the centers backside, will it be too much strain on the bolts?

I don't think so, there would be no way to center the rear barrel.

I have these wheels and technically you can but why would you want to. It wouldn't be an exact measurement if you did.

BTW, what are the specs on your wheels and what car will they be going on?
