  • AC Schnitzer hubcentric ring issue..

I have a set AC Schnitzers Type 3s on a 86 635. Now you would think these would be hubcentric since Schnitzer does pretty much only BMW wheels and really there is only one hub size outside of the E32. Not the case?

The fronts bolt up without issue but the rears seem to have allot of movement. I did my best to center them and tighten gradually in sequence but I still have a significant vibration which feels like its coming from the rear of the car. Wheels are straight and balance out with no issue.

I stopped by Discount tire and they measured the hub and bore, there was a significant gap. They called Schnitzer since for the needed rings, and here is where it gets scary. Schnitzer says that due to the curvature of the wheel bore they take a special ring. Those rings? Yeah, $130 bucks for 4 and a month long wait. They stock them by color and I guess these are the "orange" type.

Does this sound crazy or am I just being naive?

Heres the car. Thanks for any help you can lend a newb.

    Oh, and hello.

Hey man, I have same wheels on e39 and I had similar problem.

Original Ronal rings are very very rare.

    Green - 74,1mm (e39 only)
Orange - 72,5mm (rest of bimmers)

I spent weeks for search, finally this guy from Germany saves my ass

ACS wheels aren't hub centric? That would explain my shake at higher speeds...

ACS hubcentric diameter is eq 82mm if you want to fit to specific model you need specific rings.

Ishi, that is awesome. Now I just need to find out if he will ship to the US.

This must be for the Type III's. Discount Tire just confirmed my Type I's are hub centric, 72.5mm.
