Borbet & Aluett?

Hey folks, I just bought a set of wheels from a fellow S|W member in Perth. They have "Aluett" centre caps and from some perusing the internets I have discovered they are called "Aluett type 57s" and they're going on my E30. Here they are.



From further sleuthing I found out they not only look exactly like Borbet type Ts but they might actually be Borbet Type Ts. Apparently Borbet is occasionally contracted to make wheels for other companies. For example, below is the Rondell 57:



Does anyone know anything about this? Can I put Borbet centre caps on these wheels and not be an idiot? Any help would be appreciated

Ah Zed's wheels, nice buy.

They do look basically identical, it is likely they are just a rebranded Borbet. But why bother changing the caps? Anyone who knows wheels would assume they're Borbet, the fact they're Aluett is just a bit of trivia really. If anything i think those caps are cooler for the rarity haha

Haha yeah I don't think I'll bother changing them. They're a nice set of wheels, can't wait to get some appropriate suspension so I can stick them on. The fella you mentioned that had those blue eBay coilovers on his wagon... Was that Zed? I noticed he drives an Alpine one.

Hey dude still haven't put them on yet, wanted to wait til I got some decent suspension and then do it all at once. Can't wait got some Bilsteins on the way and still trying to figure out the best spring option. Might go coilovers down the track. Quick question though, what were the specs of the spacers you used with them?? Bought some skinny ones just to clear the struts at the front but not sure about the back

i had 5mm spacers front n rear made but never had a chance to fit them...so is it on the car already??
