Lip thickness

Found some lips and they come in 3.5mm and 4mm.Any difference in strength or some other fact?

Lip thickness isn't too important more so what material the actual rim component is made of and the construction type ie rolled lip, solid lip etc. Also whats important is the type of lip, standard (step lip) or reverse (flat lip). Hope this helps.
