  • E36 wheel spacing

    StanceWorks, I need your help.

    I'm going to be running 17x8.5 ET41 M-contours all around. 205/40/R17 tires.

My question is this: What size spacer would I need to get the wheels out and flush? I've searched a little and found that around ET20 is ideal, but I'm curious as to whether I should get 15mm spacers or 20mm spacers all around.

    Any input is appreciated, thanks!

well, i just asked this same question so ill help u out.

on an 8.5 youre gonna have a minor stretch, are you going for a poke look?
my final offset on my front 8.5 with a 205/40 will be et5 for a poke, but many run et13 for a flush set up.

i would say run a 30mm for a flush set up, so you'll be at et11 all the way around

here is a 17x8.5 et11 square, but of course a more meaty tire

8.5 +13 is "ideal" for an out of the box first time fitment.

+20 is "ideal" for 9" wides

You can be meat flust at et 41. get a 305/35-17 tire.
jokes aside, you need to tell us what tire you are gonna run, or the help is of no use at all.

I listed that I'll be using a 205/40/R17 in the original post, but it'll be a Fuzion HRi, not that I think that really matters lol.

So would a good option be 25/30mm if i wanted the rear to look slightly wider? Or would that leave the front slightly sunken with the rear flush?

            205/40 HRi on a 8.5et13.
if you want his fitment buy a 25mm spacer you will then be at et16.
you might wanna look into camber plates as well.

I think I'm probably going to just order a pair of 25's, see how they fit front and rear, and see if I want to go more aggressive than that in the rear, or all around.

              Thanks again for the help!

I've just bought(but not received yet) new wheels for my e36. The rears are 10x17 ET20. I don't need to pull back there, right? Just a slight roll?
I'm just worried that the paint will crack if it needs a pull, and that's not funny

Just get 27s all around. This isn't new territory.

Remember when rolling the rear fenders, to clean the sealer out first.
or else you cant roll the 100% flat, and reseal when you are done. Or they will rust very very very fast.
