  • E36 fitment + adapter questions

Long story short, I've had these 18's sitting around with wrong bolt patterns up front and want to get them fitted. They are 18x8.5/10, fronts have an offset of 30 and are 5x114.3, rears are et 18 and 5x120.

    1. Can I get a 15mm adapter from 5x114.3 -> 5x120 and not have to worry about breaking anything in the long run, or is that too thin of an adapter?

    2. Does anyone have any pics of an E36 with an 8.5 front with a low offset. I have a 205/40 Nitto NeoGen I will be running on it for a decent stretch. Rear will have a 215/40 NeoGen.

Pics of rear fitment (18x10 et 18)

    1. why would many reputable companies sell a product that fails?

    2. it will look like most tires in that size so look on tyrestretch.com

    3. 8.5 et13 is basic flush fitment for e36 and tons of people run these specs so you setup is 2mm more conservative

i cant help but think a 10 sec. google search wouldve answered your question

      1. it was a simple question, and ive heard tons of mixed reviews on a 15mm adapter, specifically why i asked it.

      2. i asked about a lower offset 18x8.5 front fitment with a 205/40 on it.. i know how the stretch looks, i was asking a specific question.

      3. yes, ive seen it before but no good shots from doing a "10 sec google search"

no reason to be a dick about some questions that you didnt answer.

my friend makes 400+ hp on shaved 15mm adapters to make them 12mm. theyll be fine if theyre from a good company like adaptec

i can get to -1 on a 8.5. haven't personally tried it on a 18 but its the same shit. thats extremely tight fitment if you cant hang tuck it in 5-10mm.

do some work man, it seems like you want your hand held. i **** to be that guy but all this info is readily available

here is a picture of my old car. (when it only had spacers in the front)
running 18x8.5 et18 no camber mods on a 215/35 toyo t1r, tho take note that the 97+ m models have a different kingpin and has more camber stock, plus you can adjust your camber plates (swapping them L to R) and get more camber.

oh and if it isent clear.
more camber equals you can run lower offsets, or just more width.

At 10j +18 rears, you're going to want like a +5 front IMO.

thanks for all the help guys, i went ahead and ordered a 25mm adapter to put them at a 18x8.5 +5 and putting my 205/40 on them. im running -2 camber up front so i think itll poke equally with the rear like ollie said.

keep them silver or paint them white?
