  • Big Brake "kits"

Since there are no good turbo upgrades for my car within my price range, I'm looking into getting a BBK put together for my GTI. The way I view it I'd much rather be able to stop right away than have some extra horse and not be able to stop it.. So, there are quite a few possibility's that can be put together.. I can go buy a kit from some company, or another company, or go check some forums and get some used Porsche brakes or some bigger VW brakes. The one setup that sticks out in my mind that is within the $1,000 budget I have for getting bigger brakes all around is getting R32 rear brakes to swap for my rears and getting Porsche 933 calipers and slotted brakes for the front.. Or just doing R32 calipers all around and getting slotted rotors and better pads. I'm no brake master so teach me.
I own an Eastwood roller, Western PA area, but will travel for $$

A $1000 budget isn't enough if you want to run 993 calipers. The brake pads alone in the front are usually really expensive. Run R32 calipers. I'd recommend HAWK HPS pads for it as I use them on my '99 BMW M3. I drive the car everyday, rain, sun, or snow. And I do track days with it. Pads hold up very well indeed on the street and track
