  • Safe stretch for 4000lbs.

Looking to stretch 225/50/15's on a 15x9.5. Problem is the vehicle in question is 4,000lbs with most of the weight being in the front. Am I looking at serious tire-shredding danger, or is this just a whimpy bit of stretch that wont matter?

(Used the search tool, brought up four threads and none of them actually mentioned 225's on 9.5s... wtf?) Google and the Tyrestretch website do not list this size on this wheel so if someone has done it please link a pic.

    My Q weighs 4000 lbs and I run a 255/40 on a 12j and 225 on a 10j.

Gotcha. 225/50/15 on a 15x9.5 it is. Will get 1 1/4th" spacers. Do you think I should do 255's, stretched 225s or 295s in the rear?

Im running -3.5 camber on the front to run 255's on my 9.5's. 1/2-1" of fender clearance depending how level the ground is Im parked on, and I want to go down another 2-3" so Im going to run a stretched tire with -2 camber to fit 10's in the front. Same reason everyone else here does it

Okay, finally got my C4 blades sold I have, and sold my Enkeir RT6's as well. Ordered a set of Bart Super Truck wheels, 15x10 4" bs front, 15x12 4" bs rear. Already have tires for them. Falken 225/50/15 front, Kuhmo 295/50/15 rear. Cant wait to see what a stretch looks like on a slammed fullsize truck.

Probably wont be that much of stretch but it will definitely look good. Looking forward to seeing this

You dont think a 50 series on a 15 might be a little too small though?

Should be fine. My current tires are 35max psi, new ones are 51max psi

And Ollie, they're only 1.2" lower from the sidewall to the rim. Doing it plus the spring perch mod to lower me another 2.5"ish. Any tire bigger won't fit :\ Its near flush with the top of the tire and fender now.

Since the current rims are 15x9.5" with 4" backspace, and I'm putting on a 1/4th" spacer with a 15x10 rim and 4" backspace it should come out 1" past the fender. Rear is adding 2.5" with same backspace, but it should fit the rolled fenders with a stretch, and 295 is still more contact patch then I currently have.

Nothing fancy, but I will be adding small black dice valvestem covers and 1.5" blue anodized lugnuts to set them off. Trying to go for that oldschool 80's stanced car look.

Will have a 6" rear lip. Should look killer. I'll be able to do that trendy soda-can stacked in the lip thing lol.

I had a brief period of freaking out and going from rim to rim, not being able to decide what rims I wanted. There are so many I like. I wish I could have several sets put aside to just switch out all the time. In the end it came down to them being affordable and the right width/backspacing.

Benz88: do you have pics of that stretch? I wanna see it just for the hell of it.

For the stretch I'm doing... should I keep the camber in my avatar or go to -4° ? It's about -3° now.

Just see how it goes, lower it and adjust as needed, don't think anyone could tell you that off the bat

Yeah you're right. I'm probably going to need to space them out after the stretch anyways.
