Believe it or not I have painted a set of wheels black with gold flake. Turned out pretty sick considering im not a huge fan of black lol.

what happened to the caps for them? Repolish and then get a new centre badge?

Thats what i had planned on doing but they were plastic and the mirror coating over them was all scratched and pitted. I thought the best way to fix this was to just completely bondo them and make custom flat caps and then put a custom oz decal over them instead.
