  • New lips, new offset, Wheel Gurus I need your help!

So here's the skinny, I'm pretty sure I got the math right but I just want to be sure.

New wheels are going to be here within the next few days and I want to order my new lips asap.

    Original with 0.5" lips specs:
    17"x8" et39

    New 1.25" lips:
    17"x8.75" et30

    New 1.5" lips:
    17"x9" et26

Why is there a 1.25" lip? Smallest lip I could find for OZ wheels without getting custom stainless steel ones made. Seems a bit weird but I've asked and confirmed that they're measuring the lips properly.

    +1" lip = -12.7mm offset
    +.5" lip = -6.35mm offset
    -.5" lip = +6.35mm offset
    -1" lip = +12.7mm offset

    +1" barrel = +12.7mm offset
    +.5" barrel = +6.35mm offset
    -.5" barrel = -6.35mm offset
    -1" barrel = -12.7mm offset

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
so, your new lips on the rear will be 1inch bigger, thus lowering the offset 12.7mm, bringing the wheel to 26.3, as you stated witch is correct.

front will be 3/4 of a inch bigger. 3/4's of 12.7mm is 9.5mm-ish bringing the wheels to et29.5. witch also is correct.

how come its weird, that the lip is 1.25"?

I've just never seen quarter inch sizes until I started shopping for these lips, that's all.

      Thanks for the confirmation!
