  • polished enkei 92

I finally finished polishing my first wheel, an enkei 92. it took me a month of weekends and bits of time here and there. there are plenty of scratches and dimples and pits and crap, but i'm still pretty happy about the results.

    before:

    after sanding:

too noob to take the stem off

    polish and wax:

i was going to go for the full polish, but I looked at some pictures and I just thought it looked so plain, so I left the mesh alone after the stripper. lmk what you guys think

Nice work man, but why didnt you just cut the valves out??? I like the not polished mesh part but it needs paint then...

yeah I knew someone would say that. but it's going on an older car, and I like the contrast between dirty and shiny. i'm weird. but gold would work nicely on the mesh.. hmm

I think they look great. kind of 'raw enthusiast' like, but it won't go over well with most. just be yourself.

besides, it's not like you're ruining anything or causing additional work than what you'd have to do in the future. I say, take a break & enjoy them. then change them up again for the next season or when you've taken enough photos of it that you become ready for a change.

update this thread when they're mounted please. I'm more than curious as to how great then can end up looking.
